Theres some mod that grants spells to switch people between smp and cbpc. Maybe it comes with cbbe-3ba?HDT-SMP with viewpoint culling. I went ahead and took karonar's faster hdt-smp and added another tweak for VR ( here ). This only uses physics for npcs in front of you in addition to the range check karonar added. When switching to the cuda version on the allready tortured GPU i get between 30-40 FPS! And that setup feels even smoother on very low FPS exterieur. Edit 2: turns out I accidentally chose the SE version instead of AE in the Fomod. A reinstall and correct version selection has fixed it.
